Amy Malik, MD, is a UW Health pulmonary and critical care medicine doctor and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Malik specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders that affect the lungs. She has advanced expertise in interstitial lung disease (a group of respiratory diseases, also known as pulmonary fibrosis, that cause lung scarring over time). Dr. Malik regularly treats patients with chronic breathing and coughing issues. She provides care for patients who have a wide range of lung disorders, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in lung arteries), lung cancer and other lung diseases. She also offers second opinions and personal consultations for patients who are seeking a clear diagnosis or follow-up care for fibrosis and other conditions. Dr. Malik uses a patient-centered approach to care. She listens to her patients’ concerns and works with them to build personalized care plans. For complex conditions, she consults with other UW Health doctors to provide the best care possible. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis — a longtime passion. It’s important to understand what is important to each patient so I can help them live their best life.
