Paul Laeseke, MD, PhD

Paul Laeseke, MD, PhD, is a UW Health radiologist. He’s also an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Radiology.

Dr. Laeseke performs advanced, minimally invasive imaging procedures to treat people with cancer, venous disease (poor blood circulation in the leg veins) and many other conditions.

Dr. Laeseke uses special imaging systems, such as X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI and ultrasound, to see inside the body as he performs surgery. He works with great precision to treat his patients successfully and help them recover as quickly as possible, without side effects.

Before a procedure, Dr. Laeseke believes it’s important to sit down with patients and families and carefully explain their treatment options. He listens to their concerns, answers their questions and offers guidance. His goal is to educate his patients and empower them to make the best decisions for their health care.

To improve patient care, Dr. Laeseke leads research to develop new image-guided treatments for cancer and other conditions.

During his free time, Dr. Laeseke enjoys running, spending time outdoors and being with his family.

It’s rewarding to treat patients with innovative new techniques that solve their problem and help them feel better almost immediately.
