Amanda Halvorson, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner specializing in wound care. She sees patients with all kinds of wounds and injuries.

Amanda works with the general surgery team to treat a wide range of wounds caused by acute (sudden) and chronic (long-lasting) conditions. She helps patients manage a variety of burns, traumatic injuries, surgical wounds and ulcers (sores) of the stomach, legs, feet and lymph nodes. She offers long-term care for people with peristomal skin issues (problems affecting an artificial opening in the body used for waste removal).

Amanda also provides supplemental treatments, such as hyperbaric (oxygen) therapy, for patients with wounds caused by diabetes, skin and bone infections and bone death.

Dedicated to creating a positive patient-provider relationship based on respect, Amanda strives to support people during every stage of their treatment and recovery. She encourages her patients to participate in their care. She makes sure they understand their conditions and works with them to tailor solutions to fit their needs. Amanda looks forward to helping them live life to the fullest.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys running, exercising and playing sports with her family.

I’m committed to improving the lives of the people in my community.
