  • Cardiothoracic Surgery

Andreas de Biasi, MD, is a UW Health cardiac surgeon. He treats adult patients with heart conditions. Dr. De Biasi also is an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where he is involved in teaching and research. Dr. de Biasi is proud to be part of an academic medical center, where he helps train future heart surgeons.

Dr. de Biasi specializes in complex heart surgeries. He focuses on mitral valve repair and aortic surgery, including procedures on the aortic valve and different parts of the aorta. He is especially interested in saving natural heart valves whenever possible, which helps patients avoid artificial replacements. He also uses advanced imaging technology to study heart problems and improve treatments.

When caring for patients, Dr. de Biasi believes in honesty, teamwork and clear communication. He takes time to explain heart conditions in simple terms and helps patients understand their options. He listens closely to each patient’s concerns and works with them to choose the best path forward. His goal is to treat every patient the way he would treat a member of his own family.

Outside of work, Dr. de Biasi enjoys spending time with his family. He loves living in Madison and says it’s a great place to raise a young family. When he’s not in the hospital, he focuses on quality time at home and enjoying life outside of work.

If it’s good enough for my mom or dad, then it should be good enough for my patient. I want every patient to feel informed, supported and confident in their care.
