Anna Hormig, NP

Anna Hormig, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner. She helps patients of all ages who need specialized care for simple and complex burns and wounds.

Anna guides care for a wide range of burns, traumatic wounds, nonhealing surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers and other related conditions. She also evaluates disorders such as venous stasis ulcers (poor blood flow) that can affect healing. She cleans and dresses wounds and educates patients about proper wound care at home and the importance of follow-up care. She also teaches patients how to recognize potential signs of infection.

Because traumatic wounds can present emotional challenges, Anna offers compassionate, healing care. She screens for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression or difficulties such as pain or sleep disturbances. She also educates patients about nutrition and general health to promote better healing. Anna finds solutions, refers patients to specialists as needed and ensures that patients feel comfortable with their care plan.

Anna has a special clinical interest in the older, geriatric population and patients with wounds that don’t heal due to conditions such as cancer or circulatory disorders.
