Acerca de

Brittany Brown, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in bariatric surgery. Brittany provides medical and surgical care for patients with obesity, metabolic disorders and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Brittany works with patients from all walks of life who need help losing weight. These can include patients preparing for other surgeries such as joint replacements and those who have other health conditions such as obesity, metabolic disorders and GERD that would improve with weight loss. Brittany prepares patients emotionally and physically for gastric bypass surgery and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy procedures and provides postoperative and follow-up care to reduce complications and ensure sustainable weight loss. Her clinical interest is in obesity, a chronic disease that often leads to other health conditions and poor quality of life.

Brittany’s care philosophy is patient focused. She believes it’s important to listen to patients and learn about their personal goals for their weight loss journey to determine the best care approach to meet their needs. Because she understands that obesity is a physical problem that often affects a person’s emotional health, she uses a holistic approach to meet all her patients’ needs.

In her free time, Brittany enjoys hunting with her large family, reading and traveling.

It’s very rewarding to see my patients do well after surgery and sustain their weight loss over time.
