Carmen Campbell, MD, is a UW Health rheumatologist and an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She diagnoses and treats patients who have arthritis or other autoimmune conditions and inflammatory diseases.

Dr. Campbell enjoys the challenge of diagnosing even the most complex inflammatory conditions, which can have many unclear or puzzling symptoms. She evaluates each patient’s symptoms, medical history, lab tests and imaging results to diagnose and treat a wide range of inflammatory diseases.

Evidence-based therapies, one-to-one guidance and shared decision-making are hallmarks of Dr. Campbell’s approach to patient care. She educates patients about their condition, taking time to ensure that they fully understand the risks and benefits of each treatment option. She offers ways to manage pain and other symptoms of chronic disease. She aims to help people make informed choices that suit their unique goals, comfort level and lifestyle.

In her free time, Dr. Campbell enjoys gardening and spending time with her children and the family’s dogs.
