Clara Hitchcock, DO, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Hitchcock provides care for hospitalized patients over the age of 18 and commonly treats people with complex medical conditions such as stroke and heart disease. She also provides post-operative care for patients who have undergone surgery. She has special clinical interests in delirium (confusion) and sepsis (blood infection) management.

Dr. Hitchcock believes in patient-centered care. She understands the importance of getting to know and listening to her patients, so she can take their needs and preferences into account when recommending care.

In her free time, Dr. Hitchcock enjoys writing music.

I believe that listening to and understanding my patients is one of the most important aspects of care.
