Daniel Shapiro, MD, is a UW Health urologist fellowship trained in the diagnosis and management of urologic malignancies. He’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Shapiro diagnoses and treats cancers of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. He has a special focus on treating patients who have cancers of the kidney, upper urinary tract, bladder, prostate, adrenal gland or testicles. Committed to providing patient-centered care, Dr. Shapiro first takes time to get to know his patients and understand their care goals. He educates them about their condition and treatment options and then partners with them to develop a treatment plan that best suits their individual needs and preferences. Dr. Shapiro appreciates that UW Health remains at the forefront of urologic cancer care using cutting-edge technology and access to the latest research and clinical trials. He enjoys collaborating with its robust multidisciplinary team of experts. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Shapiro is actively involved in kidney cancer research. Outside of work, Dr. Shapiro enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, reading and playing the piano. I strive to build collaborative partnerships with my patients to help them achieve their treatment goals.
