Emily Behrend, CNM

Emily Behrend, CNM, is a UW Health certified nurse midwife. Emily offers personalized care for women throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery and after they give birth.

As a nurse midwife, Emily focuses on her patients’ physical health and mental well-being. She provides education and helps expectant mothers create personalized care plans for themselves and their babies. She works with gynecologists, obstetricians and other specialists as needed to manage the pregnancy safely and according to the mother’s wishes.

One of Emily’s special interests is caring for women and families after their babies are born. She assists with breastfeeding issues, performs general health checks and offers emotional support.

When meeting with women for the first time, Emily enjoys getting to know them and their families. She studies their medical charts and listens closely to their concerns. Her goal is to provide helpful information and partner with them as they make decisions about their pregnancy and delivery.

Emily also offers other women’s health services. These include physical exams, breast and pelvic exams, treatment for urinary tract infections, family planning and education for women who are trying to conceive.

During her free time, Emily enjoys reading, puzzles, traveling, walking and spending time outdoors.

Few things are more exciting than delivering a baby. I support and empower my patients during this very special time in their lives.
