Eric Rogers, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant who treats patients who are receiving medical and surgical treatment for advanced heart failure. Eric provides long-term care for critically ill patients who need or have had surgery for end-stage heart failure. He specializes in mechanical circulatory support devices such as left ventricular-assist devices, which are surgically implanted in the heart. He educates patients about their devices and guides their care after surgery. Eric also helps patients who hope to receive a heart transplant, addressing any barriers that might prevent that. He teaches them health and lifestyle change they can make to improve their quality of life while living with advanced heart disease. With every patient, Eric personalizes care. He educates patients about their condition and involves them in the decision-making process as he reviews the risks and benefits of different treatment options. His goal is that every patient’s personal care needs are met. In his free time, Eric enjoys outdoor activities, bicycling, traveling and spending time with his family and pets. No two patients are the same, so we tailor care to meet their individual needs.
