Grace Blitzer, MD, is a radiation oncologist at UW Health and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Human Oncology. Dr. Blitzer uses radiation to treat patients with all types of cancer. She commonly sees patients with breast cancer, prostate cancer, and head and neck cancer. She also treats some non-cancerous conditions such as Dupuytren contracture, a condition that causes one or more fingers to bend toward the palm.  

Dr. Blitzer is also a translational researcher — meaning that she designs clinical trials that bring research from the laboratory to the clinic to directly benefit her patients. She is currently involved in research to improve treatments for head and neck cancer and uterine cancer. Through clinical trials like these, Dr. Blitzer continually seeks to improve the techniques and medications she uses to treat her patients’ cancers. 

In her personal life, Dr. Blitzer enjoys being outdoors, including hiking, cross-country skiing and running with her dog. I strive to provide the best possible care for each patient. I take into account not only each patient's disease but also their situation, wants, and perspective to come up with a treatment that will result in the best outcome for each individual.
