Jacquelyn Adams, MD, is a UW Health maternal-fetal medicine doctor (perinatologist) and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Adams treats women with high-risk pregnancies. Her patients need special care due to ongoing health conditions or new issues that develop during pregnancy, such as high blood pressure, bleeding, kidney infections or early labor. While working to keep expectant mothers healthy during pregnancy, Dr. Adams monitors the health of the baby growing inside the womb. If she detects birth defects or other medical issues, she offers treatment for the baby, sometimes before delivery. Dr. Adams’ special clinical interests include caring for pregnant women with diabetes or substance use disorder. She listens with compassion, offers support and helps her patients take good care of themselves and their developing babies. Dr. Adams focuses on researching ways to improve care for women with diabetes during pregnancy and to treat any complications that may arise. During her free time, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time with family, skiing and reading novels. I work as a team with my patients to address their concerns and use their values and priorities to manage their health and their pregnancy.
