Acerca de

Jane Churpek, MD, is a UW Health hematologist (blood doctor) and oncologist (cancer doctor). She’s also an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Churpek cares for patients and families with inherited genetic conditions that cause blood disorders and cancers. She treats those with low blood counts, bone marrow failure and hereditary cancer disorders (rare genetic conditions that are passed from parents to their children). Using early detection tests and targeted therapies, she strives to reduce her patients’ risk of developing severe or life-threatening diseases.

As an often-lifelong partner to those she treats, Dr. Churpek looks forward to building meaningful relationships with patients and their families. She empowers her patients by educating them about their conditions and helping them make decisions about their care. Through compassionate support, she aims to improve the long-term health of patients and their loved ones.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Churpek conducts research focused on identifying rare genetic variants that cause cancer and bone marrow disorders. Through her work, she hopes to help people prevent these life-changing conditions.

In her free time, Dr. Churpek enjoys practicing Pilates.

My hope for each of my patients is to help them live their best life.
