Janelle Sobecki, MD, is a UW Health gynecologic oncologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She cares for patients with female reproductive system cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancer. Passionate about health, she aims to be a central support person in her patients’ diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
Dr. Sobecki works closely with a talented team of providers, nurses and medical assistants to create a personalized treatment plan for each patient — one that meets their unique needs and helps them live their best lives.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Sobecki serves as the medical director of Women's Integrative Sexual Health (WISH). The goal of this unique survivorship clinic is to provide individual clinical consultation, resources, education, emotional support and appropriate referrals related to sexual health concerns for women with cancer.
From diagnosis, Dr. Sobecki takes the time to get to know her patients and their families, embracing them as part of the treatment team. Understanding this can be an emotional time, she listens to her patients’ concerns and keeps them informed at every step. Her goal is not only to fight cancer, but to help her patients maintain a good quality of life during and after their treatment.
In her free time, Dr. Sobecki enjoys traveling with family and playing with her dog, Wilson.
I like to approach patients the way I would my own family, ensuring that they’re not only well cared for, but understand the care we’re providing.
