Javier Santiago, MD, is a UW Health urologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Santiago has a special interest in neuro-urology and reconstructive surgery.

He sees patients with injuries to or dysfunction of the urinary tract leading to problems such as urinary incontinence (leaking urine) or obstruction, as well as men's health issues such as erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease. In addition to conservative treatments, Dr. Santiago uses surgery to reconstruct and repair parts of the urinary tract and genitals. This includes the kidney, ureter, bladder and urethra, as well as the penis and scrotum.

Dr. Santiago aims to improve his patient's quality of life. He creates an environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their needs and concerns and dedicates time in the clinic to educate patients about their anatomy and treatment options. This team-based approach helps his patients take an active role in their care which he hopes will leave eave them feeling better, both physically and emotionally.

No single treatment works for every patient. I consider each patient’s unique condition and circumstances to find a solution that truly improves their quality of life.
