Acerca de

Jennifer Philip, MD, is a UW Health transplant surgeon and an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She specializes in kidney and liver transplants.

Dr. Philip performs liver and kidney transplants for patients diagnosed with abdominal organ failure caused by severe health conditions such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease and cirrhosis. She is skilled in deceased and living donor transplants as well as renal auto transplants (a surgical procedure in which the affected kidney is moved to a different part of the body).

Recognizing that she meets people at critical moments in their lives, Dr. Philip partners with her patients to navigate the ups and downs of their transplant journey. She understands the power of listening and enjoys getting to know her patients and their stories. Through education, shared decision-making and continuous support from her team, she ensures that her patients receive exemplary care to improve the quality and longevity of their lives.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Philip researches new ways to enhance the assessment and preservation of organs prior to transplantation.

In her free time, Dr. Philip enjoys exploring Madison with her family.

It’s an honor and a privilege to serve my patients.
