Julia Lubsen, MD

Julia Lubsen, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor and an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Lubsen provides care to patients of all ages. She diagnoses and treats acute injuries and illnesses and manages chronic diseases and complex medical conditions.

Dr. Lubsen has a special interest in disease prevention and nutrition. She offers well-child visits and performs health screenings and physical exams. While she cares for patients of all ages, Dr. Lubsen specializes in geriatrics. She enjoys helping older patients with memory concerns, managing multiple medications and guiding them through end-of-life care.

It’s important for Dr. Lubsen to understand her patients’ values, goals and preferences in terms of the care they receive. This allows her to tailor care specifically to each patient. She listens closely and asks questions to understand who her patients are as people, not just as a diagnosis. She believes that building long-term relationships with her patients is a privilege.

In her free time, Dr. Lubsen enjoys knitting, walking her dog and spending time with family and friends.

My hope for each patient is that they can achieve their health goals and live their life without pain and suffering.
