Justin A. Sattin, MD

Acerca de

Justin Sattin, MD, is a neurologist at UW Health and a professor Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Sattin specializes in the prevention, evaluation and treatment of acute stroke. He provides care in the emergency department as well as follow-up care in the Stroke Clinic. When a patient has a stroke, Dr. Sattin focuses on finding out why the stroke occurred.

Partnership is at the core of Dr. Sattin’s care philosophy. He believes in empowering patients and families to participate in making treatment decisions.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Sattin takes part in research studies about acute stroke and the prevention of future strokes. In his free time, Dr. Sattin stays active with his wife, two children and their bullmastiff. He also enjoys playing classical guitar.

I work very hard to maintain communication skills — translating medical science into patient-friendly language — so patients and families can make decisions in what are often high-pressure situations.
