Kate Amond, NP

Kate Amond, NP, is a UW Health Kids pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery (procedures for the heart and blood vessels). She cares for children and adults who need heart surgery for congenital heart conditions (problems that exist from birth).

Kate treats a range of congenital heart conditions, including holes inside the heart and complex malformations where part of the heart has not developed correctly. She provides pre- and post-operative care as well as follow-up care.

Kate always includes her patients and their families in the decision-making process. She provides education about conditions and treatments and encourages families to ask questions and express their wishes. Kate also believes in making patients feel supported throughout the treatment process. She builds relationships with her patients based on open communication and provides personalized care to meet each patient’s needs and goals.

In her free time, Kate enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with her family.
