Katryn N. Furyua, MD, is a pediatric hepatologist and gastroenterologist at UW Health Kids where she also serves as the medical director of the Pediatric Liver Transplant Program. Dr. Furyua treats children with liver disease, including those who need a liver transplant. She encourages open communication and empowers patients and their families to participate in shared decision-making. Dr. Furyua strives to provide individualized care that meets each family’s unique preferences, values and circumstances.
As a professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Furyua is actively involved in research that focuses on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and metabolic liver disease in children.
I want to help children feel better so they can do all the normal things that kids do.
