Kenneth Ligaray, MD, is a UW Health endocrinologist and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He cares for patients with endocrine disorders affecting their hormones or the glands that produce those hormones.   Dr. Ligaray diagnoses and treats the full range of endocrine disorders that affect energy, growth, body temperature, blood pressure and metabolism. This includes diabetes, thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto’s disease (underactive thyroid) and Graves’ disease (overactive thyroid), adrenal disorders such as Addison’s disease (also called adrenal insufficiency) and pituitary problems.   Dr. Ligaray has a special clinical interest in thyroid conditions. He performs minimally invasive, in-office procedures such as thyroid biopsies (diagnostic tests done by removing a small tissue sample) and ablations (treatment for thyroid nodules).   Using shared decision-making, Dr. Ligaray educates his patients on their conditions and works with them to create treatment plans that work best for them. He views the treatment process as a team effort and strives to alleviate his patients’ symptoms so they can achieve optimal health.  Outside of work, Dr. Ligaray enjoys traveling, singing in his church choir and spending time with his family. My goal is to help every patient live a healthy, happy life.
