Lee Faucher, MD, FACS, is a UW Health acute care surgeon and a professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Faucher performs emergency surgery for people who have sustained serious injuries or burns. As medical director of the UW Health Burn and Wound Center, Dr. Faucher specializes in the surgical treatment of patients with severe burns. Due to the sudden nature of his patients’ injuries or burns, Dr. Faucher is meeting people at their most vulnerable. He uses clear, honest communication to comfort patients and gain their trust. He takes a patient-centered approach to care and educates patients about their conditions and the risks and benefits of their treatment options. He then partners with patients and families to make decisions that best meet their medical needs. Outside of work, Dr. Faucher enjoys spending time with his family. I’m honored by the opportunity to support people on their worst days and to help them get better.
