Lindsay Taylor, MD

Lindsay Taylor, MD, is a UW Health infectious disease doctor and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease.

Dr. Taylor treats adults ages 18 and older for all types of infectious diseases. She commonly cares for transplant patients with fungal infections, as well as for people with post-surgical infections.

Dr. Taylor enjoys the area of infectious disease because it combines her research interests with being able to interact with and care for people. She is excited about the new developments that are always coming in, and how she can use them to diagnose and treat people.

She likes to establish a relationship with her patients so she can understand where they’re coming from and what’s important to them. With that information, she can better empower them with shared decision-making.

Dr. Taylor is interested in expanding her offerings in telemedicine so she can help people outside the Madison area get the care they need for infectious diseases. Her current research focuses on learning how people can better use antibiotics to reduce unnecessary use and antibiotic resistance.

Outside of work, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog. They enjoy mountain biking, trail running and cross-country skiing.

I value including my patients in all decision-making for their care. The best treatment plan is one to which the patient agrees.
