McKenzie Thorp, MD

McKenzie Thorp, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor. She’s also a clinical associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Thorp cares for patients of all ages. She manages chronic (long-term) health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. She also provides preventive health care and treats acute (sudden) medical issues including respiratory infections, colds and flu.

Dr. Thorp’s areas of special clinical interest include women’s health. She enjoys helping young women understand contraception options and working with them to address women’s health issues. Dr. Thorp works closely with specialty providers across UW Health to ensure that her patients receive the comprehensive care they need for complex medical conditions.

Outside of work, Dr. Thorp loves spending time outdoors kayaking and enjoying local lakes.

My philosophy towards patient care is that I’m my patients’ guide to help them lead the healthiest life possible.
