Michael Wemhoff, MD, is a UW Health neurosurgeon. He provides minimally invasive surgical treatment for back and neck disorders.

Dr. Wemhoff treats a wide range of conditions affecting the neck and spine, including spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, neck pain, back pain, herniated discs and other lumbar and disc conditions. He performs various procedures, including spinal fusions, and has special clinical interests in disc replacements and minimally invasive spine surgery.

When meeting with patients for the first time, Dr. Wemhoff asks questions and listens to learn how his patients’ back or neck issues are affecting their lives. He then creates personalized care plans to meet their unique needs. He uses minimally invasive surgical techniques whenever possible to reduce risk and provide shorter recovery times, creating a smoother transition from surgery to wellness.

In his free time, Dr. Wemhoff is an avid musician.

I use minimally invasive surgical techniques to give my patients a faster path to recovery and help them return to their normal lives sooner.
