Nathan Rudin, MD, is a pain management doctor at UW Health and a professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. Dr. Rudin diagnoses and treats people with chronic conditions that impact the back, neck, joints, bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments. He also treats hypermobility spectrum disorders, such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and performs muscle and nerve tests, such as electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies. With a great fascination for how the mind and body work together, Dr. Rudin works to find the right tools to help patients manage pain and improve function. Treatments may include exercises, rehab therapies, psychological treatments, medicine, braces and injections. Away from the hospital, Dr. Rudin enjoys reading, hiking, theater and science fiction trivia. The most exciting part of my work is using these tools successfully to help patients move, work and sleep better – and achieve a better quality of life with less pain.
