Acerca de

Patrick Belton, MD, is a UW Health neurosurgeon who treats patients with injuries or conditions of the brain or spine, including stroke or brain tumor. He has a clinical interest in treating people with traumatic brain injury. Dr. Belton also is a assistant professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Many of Dr. Belton’s patients are experiencing a critical illness, so he connects with their families for decisions on care and treatment. He explains the benefits and risks of different procedures and ensures follow-up, so they know what to expect.

Dr. Belton reassures patients and their families who are nervous about surgery. He acknowledges their feelings and helps them understand the need for a procedure that will potentially improve function and speed recovery. He leans on new research from the field and applies those learnings to help him provide the best care possible.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Belton enjoys cooking and spending time with his young son.

My hope is to get my patients through their acute illness and give them the best possible chance for recovery.
