Acerca de
Raheel Ahmed, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric neurosurgeon and an associate professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He treats children from birth to young adulthood who have neurological disorders that affect the brain and spine.
Dr. Ahmed treats a wide variety of conditions such as hydrocephalus (fluid buildup in the brain), epilepsy (seizure disorder), movement disorders, brain tumors and spinal conditions that require surgery. He has a special clinical interest in pediatric epilepsy.
Dr. Ahmed believes in thoroughly preparing his patients and their families for the treatment journey. He considers each patient’s age and level of understanding when discussing treatments and shares information appropriate for their age groups. He keeps families informed throughout the process and listens carefully to their concerns. He offers education about procedures and presents all the treatment options, so families can make informed decisions about their child’s care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ahmed conducts clinical research to improve pediatric epilepsy treatments.
In his free time, Dr. Ahmed enjoys native gardening with local plants.
It's very rewarding to help children get better to reach their full potential in life.
