He holds leadership roles in various programs and national associations for addiction medicine and overdose prevention, and advocates for community services and health care to address alcohol- and drug-related concerns. He also studies the potential of novel medications, mobile health and other technological interventions and early liver transplantation to reduce the harms attributable to substance use.
