Samantha Troemel, LMFT, is a UW Health sex therapist. She guides and educates people about sexual concerns, challenges and relationship goals. She supports people who might be experiencing sexual dysfunction, stigmas or troubles that affect their daily lives and other sexual issues.
She specializes in helping people in LGBTQ+, transgender and non-monogamous relationships. Samantha’s integrative, compassionate approach includes tailoring sessions and services to individuals. She communicates directly to ensure clarity, openness and mutual understanding.
Samantha addresses sex-related shame and other issues with a non-judgmental approach. When meeting new clients, she considers their background, relationships, mental health and medical histories. Then, they discuss therapeutic approaches and goals. During in-person or virtual sessions, Samantha gives people a safe space to talk openly about sex. This includes problems that may be difficult to discuss or that they’ve struggled with alone.
In her free time, Samantha enjoys raising chickens and caring for her pets.
I think it helps to be talking about sexual concerns with someone who's not going to judge you so you can then talk about it with people in your life who are important to you.
