Acerca de

Sarah James, DO, is a UW Health family medicine doctor. She’s also an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. James provides the full spectrum of health care for patients from birth to old age. She offers preventive and general clinical services, including annual check-ups and treatment for acute (sudden) and chronic (long-term) conditions. She also supports patients during labor and delivery.

As an osteopathic medicine specialist, Dr. James uses hands-on therapies to manage bone, muscle and joint pain.

From holding someone’s hand during a cancer diagnosis to helping a family bring new life into the world, Dr. James supports her patients in pivotal moments. Through education and whole-person care, she helps them achieve their health goals. She looks forward to lifting her patients up and watching them grow into better versions of themselves.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. James researches ways to improve resident education in osteopathic medicine.

Outside of the office, Dr. James enjoys painting and spending time with her family.

My goal isn’t to take care of you — it’s to teach you how to take care of yourself.
