Acerca de

Sima Ramratnam, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric allergist and immunologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Ramratnam treats children with immune conditions and allergies caused by food, drugs or environmental factors. She provides care for short-term problems such as seasonal allergies, as well as long-term concerns, including recurrent infections, pneumonia, chronic coughs and rhinitis (stuffy nose).

As a proponent of holistic care, Dr. Ramratnam strives to improve all aspects of her patients’ health, including their lifestyle, mental well-being, and eating and sleeping habits. Believing that patients should be involved in making decisions about their health, she works with children and their families to find solutions that fit their needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ramratnam researches new ways to prevent childhood asthma within socioeconomically disadvantaged urban populations. She is particularly interested in the impact of air pollution on asthmatic conditions.

Outside of work, Dr. Ramratnam spends her time hosting parties and learning how to use her sewing machine. She also enjoys coordinating dance activities for her daughter.

Nothing gives me more joy than helping children and their families find sustainable ways to live happy, healthy lives.
