Stephen Rose, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist at UW Health, where he also serves as the director of gynecologic oncology. Dr. Rose diagnoses and treats women with reproductive system cancers, such as ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulvar cancers. He also treats a rare condition in which tumors develop inside the uterus during pregnancy. To provide the very best care, Dr. Rose uses state-of-the-art treatments and minimally invasive techniques. These include traditional laparoscopy and robotically assisted laparoscopic surgery. His care philosophy is to spend meaningful time with patients and families to discuss their cancer diagnosis, review treatment options and listen to their concerns. He’s known to use humor to relieve anxiety and help patients relax. Outside the clinic, Dr. Rose is a professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His research focus includes ovarian cancer treatment and prevention, as well as quality-of-life issues and survivorship for gynecologic cancer patients. In his free time, Dr. Rose enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. We work to treat our patients’ cancer with minimal side effects and help them enjoy a high quality of life with meaning, hope and purpose.
