Yasmin Bradfield, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric ophthalmologist and a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Bradfield diagnoses and treats a variety of eye diseases and disorders. These can include amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (misaligned eyes), pediatric glaucoma and pediatric cataract. She also treats vision disorders related to stroke, brain tumors and eye injuries. She has a clinical and research interest in pediatric glaucoma.
Dr. Bradfield's patients range from premature babies who need laser therapies to prevent retinal detachment to teens and adults with challenges such as double vision or loss of depth perception.
She performs eye surgeries and offers a range of surgical and nonsurgical treatments. She believes educating patients and their families about conditions and treatment options is an important part of patient care.
In addition to clinical care and teaching, Dr. Bradfield conducts leading-edge research to improve care and outcomes for children with glaucoma and other eye diseases.
In her free time, Dr. Bradfield enjoys traveling with her family and playing tennis and pickleball. She is also involved in medical mission trips and enjoys learning about different cultures.
I love seeing my patients’ vision improve with treatment so they can do well at school, sports, driving a car or pursuing the career paths they want.
