Walk With U

Walk With U is a free program where health and nature converge for an enriching experience. Join us as we stroll through the serene walking paths of several Winnebago County Forest Preserves, accompanied by members of our clinical teams. Each walk presents a unique health-related topic, fostering engaging discussions and insights. Our program offers a refreshing blend of physical activity and knowledge sharing in the heart of nature. Come walk with us and explore the path to a healthier you.

All sessions from 9–10 a.m.

• April 5

  • Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve, 5360 S. Mulford Rd., Cherry Valley, IL 61016

  • Meet at Indian Springs shelter house at Mulford entrance

  • 2-mile or 4-mile walk: A relaxing out-and-back walk on the paved recreation path along the Kishwaukee River. Easy walking with some moderate inclines. (Leashed dogs welcome)

• May 3

  • Hononegah Forest Preserve, #80 Hononegah Rd., Rockton, IL 61072

  • Meet at Towering Pines parking lot (follow signs)

  • 1-mile or 1¼-mile walk: Mowed grass trail through woods and fields. Flat, easy to moderate walking. Views of the Rock River. (Leashed dogs welcome)

• June 7

  • Roland Olson Forest Preserve, 9669 Atwood Rd., Roscoe, IL 61073

  • Meet at front parking lot

  • 1½-mile walk: Mowed trails through restored prairie, woods and remnant pine plantation. Flat, easy walking. (Leashed dogs welcome)

• July 12

  • Headquarters Forest Preserve, 5500 Northrock Dr., Rockford, IL 61103

  • Meet at Administration Building

  • 1¼-mile walk: Paved loop through the prairie and around quarry pond, an additional grass loop along the river and floodplain forest. Easy walk with small inclines. (Leashed dogs welcome)
