Pamela Ryan, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor. She sees patients over the age of 18. Dr. Ryan also is a clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Division of General Internal Medicine, where she also serves as an academic and career advising mentor.

Dr. Ryan provides examinations, orders imaging tests and labs, prescribes medications and therapies and partners with other health care professionals. She treats acute conditions such as colds, flu, bronchitis, strep throat and pneumonia. Dr. Ryan also treats chronic conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, anemia and digestive issues. Additionally, she treats cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, migraine and thyroid conditions.

Dr. Ryan believes in effective communication with her patients to determine clues to their condition, health goals and expectations. She educates her patients about their conditions and treatment options and uses shared decision-making to achieve the best possible outcomes. Dr. Ryan is a two-time UW Health Patient Experience Physician Champion Award recipient. She has appeared multiple times on “Best Doctors in America.”

When not in the clinical or academic setting, Dr. Ryan enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
