Suzanne van Landingham, MD, is an ophthalmologist and oculofacial plastic surgeon in the at UW Health. As a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, she treats medical and cosmetic conditions of the eyelids, eye sockets and face in both adults and children.
Dr. van Landingham cares for patients with trauma to the eyelids or eye sockets, including eye socket (orbital) fractures, eyelid wounds and scarring. In addition, she offers Botox, filler injections, facial laser treatments and cosmetic eyelid surgery.
Dr. van Landingham’s clinical interests are facial nerve disorders, thyroid eye disease and eyelid reconstruction after skin cancer.
Her care philosophy is to treat patients the way she would like to be treated with dedication, attention to detail and an invitation to take an active role in their care decisions.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. van Landingham is an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
Her research focuses on answering clinical questions in ophthalmology and oculofacial surgery using big data. She is interested in new medications to treat thyroid eye disease, vision loss, facial nerve disorders, including facial synkinesis (unwanted contractions), and the effect the COVID-19 pandemic had on eye care.
In her free time, Dr. van Landingham enjoys gardening, hiking, cross-country skiing, music and spending time with her family.
