Abdul Moiz Khan, MD, is a UW Health hematologist and oncologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating blood cancers. He is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
Dr. Khan treats a wide range of cancerous and noncancerous blood disorders using the most advanced diagnostic techniques and therapies. Some of the conditions he treats include leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic (caused by blood cells that don’t work properly) and myeloproliferative (caused by too many blood cells or platelets) tumors, multiple myeloma, anemia, blood clotting disorders and bleeding disorders.
Though he went into medicine because of a strong scientific interest in human biology, Dr. Kahn quickly found that patient interactions gave him a sense of purpose. He appreciates the opportunity to help his patients navigate the ups and downs of their illness and strives to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Kahn conducts research on blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.
Outside of work, Dr. Khan is a passionate reader of world literature. He appreciates the recurrent motifs and archetypes that prove we have more in common with each other than we may realize.
I want to first understand what is important to my patients and then help them make important decisions to get the best possible care.
