Alaa Alsadi, MD, is a UW Health pathologist and assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where he also serves as medical director of Clinical Laboratory Informatics. In addition to these roles, Dr. Alsadi is part of the UW Health Medical Informatics leadership team, holding the title of Associate Chief Medical Information Officer (ACMIO).
As a pathologist, Dr. Alsadi examines body tissue and fluid samples and conducts laboratory tests to help determine disease or illness. His clinical interests include laboratory informatics, clinical informatics, digital pathology and gastrointestinal (GI) pathology.
In his role as ACMIO, Dr. Alsadi uses medical data and computer algorithms to improve patient care and interdepartmental communications.
