About
Alexa Beversdorf, NP, is a UW Health Kids nurse practitioner specializing in pediatric neurology and providing care to patients from infancy to age 18. She determines the cause and urgency of neurological conditions through examinations, orders labs, prescribes medications, explains her diagnosis and creates a unique care plan.
Alexa treats pediatric neurologic conditions such as chronic headaches, epilepsy, abnormal tics, tremor and movement disorders. She also treats neurologic spells of unknown causes, astrocytoma, brainstem glioma, ependymoma and medulloblastoma. Alexa orders and interprets diagnostic testing. She performs procedures, including occipital and supraorbital nerve blocks, trigger point injections and Botox for chronic pediatric migraines.
Alexa’s care philosophy is to listen to her patients and their families so she can understand their needs, goals and expectations. She discusses concerns, provides health education about the patient’s condition and creates a care plan for her patients’ needs. Alexa ensures families understand the care plan and encourages proper follow-through at home for the best possible outcome. Controlling the neurologic condition, relieving pain and getting the patient back to living the life they want is her main goal.
When not in the clinical setting, Alexa enjoys traveling and spending time with her four children.
I approach my patients and their families with compassion and respect and validate their feelings and concerns so they can move on with the best life possible.
