About

Amy Stella, MD, is a UW Health medical oncologist (cancer doctor) and a clinical associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Stella specializes in taking care of patients with breast cancer.

Dr. Stella helps patients at every step of their cancer journey. She helps patients understand their condition, varied treatment options such as chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy and medications. and monitors their condition and progress. She works with other providers and specialists, including radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, health psychologists and genetic counselors. Together, they develop care plans that meet each patient’s unique treatment needs and goals.

As her patients go through cancer treatment, Dr. Stella develops personal relationships with them and their families. She works with them to adjust their care plan as their condition, needs and treatment goals change.

Outside of work, Dr. Stella enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and assisting with her children’s swim meets.

I educate people about the latest advances in cancer care and help support and guide them through challenging times.
