Andrea Schnell, MD

Andrea Schnell, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor who provides primary care for adults. She's also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Schnell treats a variety of chronic (long-term) medical problems, including diabetes, heart disease, lung disease and kidney disease. She also provides acute (urgent) care for patients with headaches, chest pain, abdominal pain and other concerns. Dr. Schnell offers women’s health care and preventive care for patients who want to stay healthy.

Dr. Schnell believes the most rewarding part of being in the medical field is the relationships she has with her patients. She enjoys seeing them live their lives, supporting them during the hard parts and celebrating with them during the good parts. As part of that relationship, Dr. Schnell strives to listen carefully and ensure she and her patient are on the same page regarding care and treatment.

In her free time, Dr. Schnell enjoys reading fiction and fantasy, cooking and traveling.

I’m most interested in getting to know my patients, helping them meet their goals and becoming the best version of themselves.
