Andrea Weitz, MD, MPH, is a UW Health physician specialty-trained in emergency medicine. Dr. Weitz leads a team of expert health care clinicians who treat people with illnesses or injuries that could be life-threatening or pose an immediate risk to their health and well-being. Injury or illness can be caused by disease, infection, stroke, heart attack, or bodily trauma and may include symptoms such as fevers, vomiting, bleeding, shortness of breath, dizziness, weakness, and pain. Dr. Weitz speaks with patients, obtains lab tests and imaging, such as X-rays, to diagnose the injury or illness, and provides necessary treatment.
Whether it is a life-threatening event, such as a heart attack, or a condition needing rapid treatment, such as pneumonia, Dr. Weitz attentively and compassionately listens to all patients to understand their health care needs and provide the most advanced medical care available.
