Anne Schmitz, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner. She provides primary health care for patients of all ages, from newborns to elderly patients.
Anne diagnoses and treats a wide variety of symptoms and conditions. These can range from sudden illnesses and injuries such as coughs, fevers and pain to chronic diseases such as asthma, arthritis and diabetes. She also offers personalized education and preventive care, health and wellness checks, routine screenings and physical exams. As a certified lactation counselor, Anne has a special clinical interest in helping individuals who are having difficulty breastfeeding their babies.
It’s important to Anne that her patients feel heard. She takes time to educate them about their conditions and care options, answer questions and address any concerns they might have. She believes in shared decision-making with her patients, and works with other UW Health specialists as needed for comprehensive treatment and care.
I am passionate about caring for families and building connections and trusting relationships over time.
