Audrey Ford, PhD

  • Psychology

Audrey Ford, PhD, is a UW Health child and adolescent psychologist with a background in teaching and special education. She also has completed the Infant, Early Childhood, & Family Mental Health Capstone Certificate program at UW, and through this training, developed expertise in supporting our youngest patients and their families.

Audrey treats children and parents/caregivers who are experiencing a myriad of symptoms that can impede human flourishing: anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), challenging behavior and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She is especially interested in caring for young people (ages 0-5 years old) and their families. Audrey has built on her experiences in schools, community mental health centers, and hospitals to develop a parenting group (Parenting Together) that introduces relationship building, limit setting, mindfulness and self-compassion to caregivers. In individual therapy and group, she is passionate about strengthening parent-child relationships. Her treatment approaches integrate the following modalities based on the needs of the patient: cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and solutions-focused therapy.

When not providing therapy at UW, Audrey works with the UW Parent-Infant research group, conducting interviews with parents and analyzing data that address difficulties in the postpartum years. During her free time, Audrey enjoys exploring the great outdoors, volunteering at her church, exercising, cooking and reading.

It is my honor to see patients, their needs, their strengths and their histories; and walk alongside them as they do the challenging work of pursuing health.
