About

Brian Kenealy, MD, PhD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor who cares for patients of all ages, from birth through the senior years. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

He diagnoses and treats a variety of symptoms and conditions. These can range from coughs, fevers, rashes, infections and high blood pressure to injuries and diseases such as heart failure, kidney problems and lung disorders.

Dr. Kenealy has a special interest in obstetric care and delivering babies and pediatric care for children from birth through adolescence. He has advanced expertise in endocrinology (hormone-related diseases such as diabetes) and neuroendocrinology (hormone-related nervous system disorders).

He performs in-office procedures such as joint injections for arthritis pain, skin biopsies to check for cancer and treatments for ingrown or diseased toenails.

Taking a holistic approach, Dr. Kenealy addresses individual concerns and involves patients and families in their care. He encourages healthy lifestyle habits that can help prevent diseases and injuries.

Outside of work, Dr. Kenealy enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and their dog and playing ultimate frisbee and basketball.

I enjoy getting to know my patients, developing relationships and even laughing or crying with patients and families through life’s changes and challenges.
