Cassandra Lee, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner. Cassandra provides comprehensive care to critically ill patients who are having complex surgical procedures. She manages the post-operative care of patients with heart failure, lung disease, heart and valve defects, infections and other life-threatening conditions.
Patients under Cassandra’s care are hospitalized in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit (CTICU). She collaborates with heart surgeons, thoracic surgeons, critical care nurses and other specialists. Cassandra cares for patients who have had heart bypass surgery, heart and lung transplants, valve replacements and other procedures. She monitors patients who have implanted mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices that help the heart function. She also monitors those on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) — a form of life support for the heart or lungs.
Cassandra provides compassionate, personalized care while educating patients about their condition and treatment. She communicates with patients’ families and their loved ones and collaborates with experts to provide high-quality care based on leading-edge treatments.
My goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of those in my care, promoting healing, well-being, hope and comfort during challenging times.
