Chantal Girod, MD

Chantal Girod, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor. She provides primary health care for patients of all ages, with an emphasis on wellness.

Dr. Girod diagnoses and treats acute (sudden) illnesses and minor injuries and manages chronic (long-term) conditions such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure) and high cholesterol. She also provides preventive care that includes vaccinations, well-check visits, annual physicals and patient education about disease prevention. Her focus is on wellness care and helping patients live their healthiest lives.

Dr. Girod enjoys the continuity of family medicine. She enjoys getting to know patients and families over years or even decades of care. She takes the time to understand their lifestyles and health goals, then partners with them to create individualized care plans.

Dr. Girod is fluent in English and French, allowing her to care for a more diverse patient population.

Outside of work, Dr. Girod enjoys volunteering, painting, sewing, knitting and gardening.

I listen to what my patients have to say and bring my knowledge of medicine to the conversation. We then use shared decision-making to determine their health care plan.
