About

Emily Schumacher, NP, is a UW Health Kids nurse practitioner in developmental pediatrics.

Emily cares for children with conditions that affect their development and growth. These issues include autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), genetic disorders, anxiety and global developmental delays. She sees patients from ages 2 to 21.

When meeting with patients and families, Emily listens carefully to their concerns and answers questions. She works to identify each patient’s needs and goals.

Depending on the child’s condition, Emily consults with pediatricians, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, audiologists, nutritionists and social workers. Together, they create a care plan to address each child’s needs and help manage their medication.

To make sure everyone is on the same page, Emily invites families and caregivers to message her through MyChart with follow-up questions. She works to help each child learn, grow and thrive at home and at school.

During her free time, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, hiking and exploring.

It’s exciting to see the progress that children make in their daily lives. I enjoy helping kids reach their full potential.
